Underworld: racing in Budapest
Kyokei Underworld Cup 2026 – EUC and Onewheel finals
In October we went back to Hungary: at the Kyokei Underworld Cup in Budapest, the EUC and Onewheel finals were on the programme on 10 October – and Markus was there.
The name comes from the cellar tunnels of Kőbánya, which the Underworld races in Budapest have run through for years. On top of that came outdoor heats: a mass start on the dusty track, duels in the corners, a course along the barriers and a forest section with a ramp.
It all ended with a celebration on the podium. The clips from the weekend show how tight it got in the dusty corners.

Schwarza valley: 34.7 kilometres to Payerbach and back
A long afternoon ride from Ternitz up the valley
Early September, just before four in the afternoon, we set off: up the Schwarza valley via Enzenreith and Gloggnitz all the way to Payerbach.
After almost 17 kilometres a short break in Payerbach, then back again. In Stuppach near Gloggnitz there was a longer stop before heading home in the evening – the loop was complete after almost three and a half hours.
All in all 34.7 kilometres and a good 200 metres of climbing. The battery went from 92 to 16 percent – just over 500 watt-hours for a really beautiful ride. The route is shown on the map below, and both break spots are listed under meeting points.

Mayrau Shred Fest and Prague: a weekend in the Czech Republic
Boardwalks, forest trails and race numbers – and then through Prague on a Onewheel
From 19 to 21 June the European Onewheel League stopped at the Mayrau Shred Fest in the Czech Republic. The course ran through the forest: over boardwalks, through tight corners and descents between the trees – with a race number on the board.
Singletrails show what a Onewheel can do: roots, corners and boardwalks in one flow, without stepping off once.
In the Open class Markus finished 23rd with 84 points – together with Wacky Wheels that made 180 points and rank 41 of 164 in the overall standings at the end of the season.
Afterwards we went to Prague. Along the Vltava and through the parks on a Onewheel – you see an amazing amount of the city in a short time.

Wacky Wheels: European Onewheel League season opener
Three days of trails, pump track and racing in Hungary
From 17 to 19 April we headed to Hungary: with Wacky Wheels, hosted by the Electro Hussars, the European Onewheel League kicked off its 2026 season.
The riding happened deep in the woods – narrow trails between the trees, dirt mounds, sandy paths and a pump track where all the momentum comes from shifting your weight. Exactly the terrain you love a Onewheel for.
Between the runs: a break in the forest with the boards in the leaves, then back out again – and away from the timing, group rides across the trails.
In the Open class Markus finished 20th, earning 96 points for the league standings. David and Natalie raced in the Open class too: David finished 25th (76 points), Natalie 26th (72 points).
Wacky Wheels was the first of seven league dates. The tour continued to England, France, the Czech Republic, Scotland and Denmark, and the finals took place in early October at the Onewheel Algarve Race in Portugal.
